Centrino branded, the T42 is made for mobility - a good choice for any road warriors out there who want good performance packaged in a light-weight system. This IBM machine does not disappoint.

With an Intel Pentium M CPU, running at 1.7GHz, with 2MB of Level 2 cache coupled with 512MB of PC2700 DDR SDRAM it delivers the goods in a 60GB, 7,200rpm hard drive. Adequate for any applications you're likely to consider running on a notebook computer.

It comes complete with an excellent keyboard and a sharp 14.1-inch TFT LCD screen (Optional 15-inch screen is also available). Graphics is handled with an ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 chipset using 64MB of RAM.

IBM has got every connectivity base covered:Intel wireless adapter 802.11b and 802.11g, a D-SUB port,an S-Video connector, two USB 2.0 ports, headphone and microphone units, a parallel port, an IrDA port, intergrated Gigabit Ethernet, 56k modem, but note there is no FireWire port.

Special security features include a built-in laptop security chip and a fingerprint scanner.

This thin T42 system has a weight of 5.0 pounds and comes with IBM's three-year warranty.
