Rebel without an inch to spare - the 17-inch PowerBook G4 is one of the thinnest and lightest 17-inch notebooks you will find in the desktop replacement group. Measuring just one inch thick and encased in an eye-popping anodized aluminum case this notebook looks super cool at 6.8 pounds.

It also sports the Mac Os X Operating System furthering it's rebel status - powered by 1-GHz PowerPC G4 processor and 512MB of RAM. (Expandable to 2GB of RAM)

One of the most impressive feature is the crisp, large 17-inch which supports a resolution of 1440 x 900 and can display 1.3 million pixels on the screen. Great for viewing movies and playing games.

This PowerBook G4 should be of special interest to graphic and visual enthusiasts - not only for the excellent display but for the full complement of software. The PowerBook comes loaded with iMovie/video editing; iPhoto/capturing and managing photos; iDVD 3/DVD authoring; iTunes/playing and managing music, plus music visualization.

Connections are easily be handled with Built-in Bluetooth and 802.11g, a Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0 , and FireWire 400 and 800. Special note - FireWire 800 port has a bandwidth of 800 Mbps allowing for faster data transfers.

Sour note - a few people have commented on the poor location of the keyboard, too close to the screen. Making typing awkward so if word processing and typing is prominent in your daily notebook activities - test the keyboard (if you can) before you buy and see if this issue will be a problem for you.
